My Coaching Process

In a coaching relationship my client and I work as partners through regularly scheduled times on the telephone, two to four times a month. In these conferences, we discuss strategies, plan actions, review results, and process what has been learned to move toward accomplishing your goals. In addition, you can keep in touch with me between sessions through e-mail or brief telephone conversations to celebrate triumphs or to address emergency situations.

Coaching by phone (also called “virtual coaching”) has several advantages including:
  • Greater convenience as we can work with each other anywhere in the US or Canada
  • Better utilization of your time since you do not have to travel to appointments, and
  • Reduced hassle of traveling to coaching appointments through traffic, bad weather conditions, or going through security checks at airports

How do I coach clients
  1. Listen intently.
  2. Understand feelings involved.
  3. Learn values of client.
  4. Explore strengths, skills, abilities, talents, dreams of what client has wanted and
    does want now.
  5. Help client consider various goals and options which would be in line with the
    client’s values.
  6. Help client prioritize goals and select a doable desired goal.
  7. Help client develop a plan to follow that will move toward accomplishing the goal.
  8. Keep client focused on plan, i.e., keep client accountable for carrying out the steps in the plan.
  9. Celebrate successes along the way and will be there for client during “down” times.
  10. Help client have a fulfilling and happier life, which is aligned with the client’s values.
